w/ this signing, we should forget the 3-man backline. supposedly, his speed isn't very good. putting 4 in the back and having the likes of adrian, pablo, marcelo playing CDM, i think we'll be much improved.
Hopeless, I think that the 08 might stand for "2008"... I may be wrong, but would make sense to me. I seriously doubt they would take Toja's number away from him unless Toja didn't want it...
Just my guess on the matter, but aside from that, welcome to the Big D, Duilio!

Um... he was the captain of Club America... he was, I guess, Captain America in a sense. Not a long time ago, either. Last month. "Over the hill has been" is not applicable in this instance the same way it was applicable to Denilson. Blanco and Beckham were both "over the hill has beens" and they've both contributed mightily to the effectiveness of their teams (in Goldenballs's case, without even playing soccer all that much).
Wagner-Davino-Moor-Yi would be my preferred backline for next season. Moor would have the legs to cover and Davino would have teh experience to "run things".

-Coach Morrow was quoted as wanting this signing (ie saying that he could help FCD have the best defense in the league -- source = 3rd Degree FCD News Recap for 1/9).
-He was loads of experience.
-He's 31, same age as Ricchetti
- He is NOT supposed to be a DP.

So I'm really excited for this signing. He isn't a has been he just got done with Club America and other Div. 1 Mexican sides wanted him. He is also a leader and he can teach the guys a lot. This also means that Gbandi won't get to play :)
First post of 2008! Davino sounds like a good replacement for Goodson. Can't wait for play to start in 2 short months.

I like this signing. He will add maturity and leadership to a relatively young defense which can only help the players improve their game.
Bring on the Latinos baby. Fish, Toja, Sala, Alvarez, Ricchetti and now Dulio. Great job Hitch. All of our best players are from South of the Border (yes, I know Alvarez is from Houston, but his parents are from El Salvador so you know what I mean!)

I really like this signing. It adds expierence, quality, and maturity to our backline which was far too leaky last year. Now if we could just get another decent striker and a another good winger, we'd be set.

I am glad we got a good defender with the right credentials to back us up for the new season. As cool as it was to sign Denilson, the front line really does not need a boost. It was hard for the team with Cooper out for so long but FCD has plenty of talent up front to net goals, and Kenny is back. If Davino can be a good leader in the back, that would be what is best for Dallas right now. I am way excited for 08!! Lets go Hoops!!
This should help cover some of the Goodson loss but how are we going to score more goals next year. Being shutout 11 times was the problem with the team. We gave up one more goal than NE but they made it to the finals because they could score.
WE have too many forwards and no creative midfields or crossers of the ball. Let's trade say Ruiz and/or Cooper and get some creators. Thompson and Dom have proven they can score the ball if it comes into the box.
Good signing for you guys...though not a diehard FCD fan, I figured I would also share an interview I recently did with your own Ray Burse, Jr. this past weekend...enjoy.
