So since we brought it up the other day, we thought we'd give an update on where we stand with defender Duilio Davino.
On Monday, Hitch met with Duilio's agent here at the office in the morning and then Steve went to lunch with both Duilio and his representative. Steve tells us that both sides are interested in making something happen, that they made some progress on Monday and would be meeting again today.
In the meantime, you can watch his media session from Sunday below...

did they go to taco bueno for lunch? or mi cocina? cantina laredo?
Rosa's Cafe? El Pollo Loco?
This guy looks like a good addition to the team. Seems like Drew was hoping to step up and be the leader in the back, but I bet this guy will take that spot if he's signed.
Thanks for getting the interview with subtitles up. I don't know Spanish, but I really wanted to know what was said. Thanks!
I wonder . . . if Davino is signed, perhaps instead of filling the roll as leader (since he'll be new to the league and all), maybe he can teach the others, such as Drew, how to become the "organizer" of the backline. Just a thought . . . (and don't know how much of a teacher/ role model he'd be).
Either way, SOMEONE needs to be a leader back there. Sala could do it, but Burse needs more experience. I wouldn't mind seeing to see Drew fill that role, if possible.
I guess we'll see . . . provided an agreement is reached.
P.S. If his level of play matches his good looks . . . he ought to be awesome! ;)
Bennigans?
i dont think he's that good but i hope he does good for us...
He will be the defensive leader. Pablo will be our team captain/leader this year.
The more I look at this signing the more I like it. I do hope they get it done.
Dan
especially w/ the interest he still has from other mexican league teams, that should tell you he still has some game left. get it done!!1
Sounds to me like he's concerned with security for him and his family. Footballers' wives and kids get kidnapped with some regularity in Mexico, and I would bet that why he says that he doesn't care about the economics that much.
