Wheldon, who won the Turbo Indy 300 yesterday in Kansas, will be in town to promote the Bombardier Learjet 550 at Texas Motor Speedway on Sat. June 7. The English-born driver will hold interviews with media inside before joining the team in training around 11:30 a.m., where he’ll knock around the ball with the guys run and through some drills. Wheldon grew up playing soccer and is a huge fan of the sport, so we’re looking forward to seeing what he can do on the field.

Rather than talk about this - Why no talk about the Gladbach match in July? If MLS announced it then clearly the FO should say something.
Good point! Why haven't we heard anything about the Monchengladbach game yet and how can we get tickets?
They haven't even announced the date for the game yet.
or maybe an update on how crappy our field is now that edgefest is over
fcd field is fine
Thanks for sharing the news about the guest joining the team for training. It seems like a good way to keep training interesting for the guys to have new elements introduced throughout the year, even if only for a few days. Are any of the guys big race car fans?
It is also a fantastic way to get soccer and FCD some additional airplay with the always coveted mainstream media. Good job!
BTW - since everyone else is asking for random info, think you guys could put together a little FCD TV hi light reel on Dario Sala? With all the saves and clean sheets he has had it should be easy to find enough footage to fill a 5 minute segment. Or how about the promised episode of FCD Cribs at the Sala's?
I agree....everyone always shows goal highlights, how about some save highlight!!!

AWESOME REPORTING ANOTHER SPORT ATHLETE LIKING SOCCER. AS A FAN OF ALL SPORTS I LOVE TO HEAR ABOUT THESE KIND OF STORIES. LIKE STEVE NASH LOVING SOCCER, DIRK NOWITZKI LOVING SOCCER, KEVIN GARNETT LOVING SOCCER, REGGIE BUSH LOVING SOCCER, ROGER FEDERER LOVING SOCCER. KEEP THESE KIND OF STORIES COMING!
I went to the practice and enjoyed the spectacle. Good to see some of the injured guys now joining in the practice. What I want to know s who gave the guest trainer the #10 jacket to wear? He did score, but still...
Good times for all.
