Brek joins Drew in Barbados

So now you know Brek didn't travel with us to New York. Instead, he had a 5:40 am flight from Dallas to Barbados, to join FCD teammate Drew Moor and the U.S. Men's National Team for the second-leg of the World Cup Qualifier.

For Brek, it's first-ever call up to the full Men's National Team...Last summer, he was on the U.S. U-17 team at the U-17 World Cup in Korea...In January, we drafted him with the #2 overall pick...then, in April he was called in to the U.S. U-20's for a tournament in Portugal...and, just last month, he joined the U.S. U-23's for the Toulon Tournament in France.

The U.S. vs. Barbados game in on Sunday at 2 pm CT, live on ESPN Classic and Galavision. You can follow along with the National team through their blog.

I'm fine with his call up but KC jr must be wondering why he can't get one.

Wow, great for Brek. Coop's call-up must be coming soon, Bradley is probably waiting for a time that they could call him up without him missing an FCD game.

fc dallas coaches please pay attention..... start Brek (play him more), if he is good enough to be called up and EPL teams are looking at him. Play him before he becomes the next Jozy.

Hell play him period!

The best thing that can happen for him will be to play overseas.

every level of US soccer wants him to play. rumors of european teams want him to play for them. the only place he doesn't play is here. just doesn't make sense to me.

instead, we keep running out turnover machine blake wagner, and a lazy arturo alvarez.

Yes, I would at least like to see him play a full 90 (in person if possible) before he goes across the pond.

Brek is not going anywhere. He has not played enough to get a british work permit and I doubt he even plays tomprrow.

Would like to see him play, but I agree with Socceroo....probably won't happen. Then again, it would REALLY have been nice to see his energy in the second half of tonight's game.

He could be signed and loaned out then recalled once he gets the caps. He is only 17 so he is a long term project.

I don't know, I've watched him play with the U-23s and in a little bit with FCD and I just don't see it. He runs around like he has no idea what's going on. A few NCAA D-1 seasons would have done him a world of good.

He runs around! That alone should be enough to get him in the starting 11. I remember when we used to have this long haired chap from Columbia who ran around a lot. He was fantastic. I think his name was Tonto or Toga or something. What ever happened to that guy?

Kenny Cooper
Alex Yi
Jonathan Spector
Freddy Adu- Had a trial but united pass on him.

Brek don't go to Manchester Utd in matter of fact don't go to an EPL team go to Holland,Germany,Spain, and Italy to develop your skills and get a chance to play for the first team.

Bradley was hittin' the high grade and told some toadie to call up the tall guy in Dallas that he won't play. The toadie got confused and called in Brek:)
