Zarco in the House

A surprise guest showed up to training today: former Dallas player Jorge ‘Zarco’ Rodriguez. The 1998 team MVP and three-time Dallas Defender of the Year (1998, 2000, 2001) chatted during practice with his former coach and current FC Dallas color commentator, Dave Dir. After practice, Zarco caught up with fellow El Salvadoran Arturo Alvarez inside the locker room.

Jorge Zambrano from Univision’s Contacto Deportivo also stopped by this morning to conduct interviews with several FCD players. Of course, he talked with Duilio Davino about facing Chicago’s Cuahtehmoc Blanco, his long-time teammate at Club America. Zambrano also spoke with Arturo Alvarez, Dario Sala, Pablo Ricchetti, Juan Toja and everyone’s favorite FCDTV guest reporter, Eric Avila. The interviews should run on Contacto either Friday or Saturday, so keep an eye out for that.

And after stepping off the training field, Kenny Cooper and Dominic Oduro took the time to visit with about 50 young attendees of the FC Dallas School of Excellence Soccer Training Camps.

Looks like Zarco is telling Arturo it's about time he ditched the frosted tips.
