Major League Soccer today announced that Juan Toja has been added to the MLS All-Star team. This will be Toja's second all-star appearance, after also starting and scoring in 2007 against Celtic FC.
Toja, 23, was selected as an alternate by All-Star head coach Steve Nicol along with Chivas USA defender Jonathan Bornstein and New England Revolution midfielder Steve Ralston to replace Sacha Kljestan, Michael Parkhurst and Robbie Rogers who were named to the U.S. Olympic Team roster today and will miss the All-Star game.
In other news, we can confirm that Juan Toja is one of the players that has attracted interest from overseas teams. No decision has been made.

That's a surprising pick considering Toja's lack of aggression and results this year. It seems the current Toja is lacking the fire that the real all star Juan had. Hopefully this will motivate him to finish out the season strong, CONGRATS TOJA!
He is my favorite player but even I think this is strange ... is Nicols put of his mind to not include a better performing player such as Schelotto??
HAHAHA!!!!!
No decision has been made! The front office might want to get their romanian to english translators out! There is at least one paper over there that as close as i can translate is making it sound like a done deal.
He was probably added by Garber to jack up the transfer fee to Romania. But lerchin, the media you speak of is about as accurate as MLSrumors. Don't believe everything you see.
this is all soo strange. Something is up and it has to do with the transfer but congrats anyways. He has talent; we all know that and he is my favorite player but honestly I can name other midfielders who deserve it; something is up.
its to showcase him.
I think he is leaving; none of this makes sense but I hope we get what he is really worth. At full fitness and the talent he has, he is worth more than the 500k the romanian papers have put out. If that is the price then Dallas has no business sense. If he leaves to Europe great for him and bad for us.
Congrats Juan:)

Wish you luck Toja no matter where you go. Hope he can stay in Dallas though. Like watching him play. :)
Everyone has their own feelings surrounding Toja and if he deserves or not. For ONCE, can't people on this blog be positive for once. You all must live sad lives if all you can do is nag on people.
I think Toja is GREAT. If he leaves, THAT SUCKS FOR THE TEAM AND I WILL NO LONGER SUPPORT HUNTS BECAUSE IT IS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY AND NOT WHAT WE CAN DO WITH THIS TEAM.
I am happy for Juan, and if he DOES leave, I have my memory of the great first half of the season last year. On the other hand, if he does go abroad the person that benefits the most is Avila.

"No decision has been made" is front office speak for "We have an offer and are considering."
Get a good price for him, let the youngsters play more, then bring in a more consistent veteran to anchor the offense.
Juan is so talented. I think going to Europe would benefit him but whatever happens I wish him the best.
"Get a good price for him, let the youngsters play more, then bring in a more consistent veteran to anchor the offense."
That was our answer for letting Goodson go and bringing in Davino to "bolster" the defense.
That worked well
Goodson was a chump.
maybe nicols likes what Toja and Angel did last year and is looking for that talent. Good luck Juan!
Who is this Nicols everyone mentions?
Stevie Nicol, the head man at New England picked Toja. If anyone in MLS can get Juan to do his thing in one game it's Stevie Nicol.
Toja is going nowhere.
This is just going to make Hitch look like the Bozo we all know he has turned out to be. How long do we have to put up with this from him
"In other news, we can confirm that Juan Toja is one of the players that has attracted interest from overseas teams. "
... that should say "in completely related news..." b/c that is the only reason he's going. I bet he gets in at half so they can showcase him as much as possible.
and i like how one commenter says "For ONCE, can't people on this blog be positive for once. You all must live sad lives if all you can do is nag on people."
and then in the next sentence nags/complains about the ownership group... little Pot/Kettle thing going here :)
Goodbye Juan, he has already expressed interest in playing in the UEFA cup and champions league, if he gets a chance to go do it and get more money why would he want to stay. Sad to see him go even though this season hasn't been that great for him.
This doesn't make sense... Toja performance this season has been completely crappy and he gets choosen to play on the MLS all-stars team and he might be leaving to make better money?
I swear MLS is all politics, there are better players who deserve this chance not Toja and especially not Cooper.
everyone is surprised!surprised?Dam!! the MLS makes its money from transfer fees, can anyone tell me when a player from MLS was denied a move? only Guzan and it was a visa issue not because MLS wanted him here. Guys, since last year Toja was even a speculation of a move ManU. expose the dam guy to an EPL sceen and let him make his slides tackles Bingo!! MLS gets millions!! in return? we will get a retiree player from around the conner and try to make pro team.
Agreed. Remember that whether this is a good thing or not for FCD, FCD has no say in it. MLS owns the contract and FCD cannot prevent a trade. MLS wants to make money in the international transfer market, and I can't blame them.
Very true. Well anyways I hope it is a great all star game because they all have talent. Congrats Juan!! Good luck!
He should go to Europe; that would make his chances of getting on the national team better. It would be cool to see him in 2010. Anyways wishful thinking but he is definately worth more that 500k; he is at least 850k. Hope we beat Colorado this weekend and totally clobber LA for some pay back next weekend and I also want the all star game to be awesome. Maybe Juan has played to his top level this year but no one can argue that he is talented and is a star. Congrats Toja!
Congrats Juan on the All-Star pick!!
How can you say let Toja go to play the youngsters?? Toja is 23! He IS one of our young guns. If he leaves, that's two of our youngsters (Toja and Badson) with the most potential. With the exception of trading Ruiz and our drafts, pretty much all of our personnel changes have been frustrating to me.
There is an online newspaper from Romania that is doing all they can to denigrate a good player from FS. Dallas, Juan Toja. The two Romania newspapers are: Gazeta Sporturilor (gspTV.ro) and Onlinesport.ro/
Those two newspapers are doing all they can to fabricate story that Juan Toja is taking drugs in order to prevent him to move to Steaua Bucuresti.
It is the responsibility of FC Dallas organization to take severe action against this racist online newspapers and report them to the State Department in Washington and UEFA and FIFA for discrediting one of the best player from Dallas. Such racist newspapers should never be tolerate anything and in particular to discredit players just because in that country there is no limit to lies and fabrication in their local news media.
All journalist from this extremely corrupted country are corrupted and they think they can write any story in order to discredit any person for financial incentives.
Shame on you GSP.ro and Onlinesport.ro or the way you discredit Juan Toja that will bring joy to Steaua. In those two news on line papers, Steaua is a team not like by many due in particular to false information lies and deceiving publish by very corrupted journalist from this very corrupted country. The Chief Editor of those corrupted newspaper should be a shame to discredit Juan Toja from FC Dallas.
