That was an interesting, yet weird, interview. Just because Coach knows a player does not mean he is good.
7 softball questions.
So SH said he has two players better than Guarda. But he is playing Guarda because he knows his system. That is a joke. Dax and Eric should be playing that role. They are good enough to play SH basic system. He can say what he wants to but there are only so many ways too play in a 4-4-2. These are pro players give them some credit. I know there were people mad that the last two coaches played favorites, but this one realy is.
schellas is not smart, look at how his teams always choke
I thought it was a shame he didn't answer any of the real questions that probably the majority of the people posted.
Dax and Avila have proven to be more effective in the attacking role, yet Guarda gets the nod? ridiculous
I played against "Burno" when he played for Plano West in high school. Don't get me wrong, he is a quality player, but seriously Schllas... do you see him playing for the Brazilain world cup team in his lifetime? I have seen him and Avila play a number of times now and every time I see Avi play he shows why he deserves to be out there. Avi over Guarda please. How many games have we won with Bruno anyways? Not enough to make the playoffs in a weak western conf. Let me make sure to include FC Dallas as part of that sorry conference. As much as I love Kenny Cooper, it might be best for him to move over seas to further his development and get a spot in WC 2010.
FCD Die hard!
Play the people who deserve to play and pay the people who deserve to be paid! Or the rest of the public will stop watching if they still are.
Agree with previous comments. Guarda out, Avi in. Simple as that.
At least Saragosa gets a break from all the things people were saying about him lately, since everyone is talking about Guarda now :)
Yeah.. but he's still off my Christmas Card list for that turnover against Colorado that lead to their goal.
Yeah... But he's a lost-ball machine.. No doubt about it
OK, come on - does this make anyone feel any better about this guy a MAJOR LEAGUE SOCCER coach ?
He think Cunningham gives a solid strikig tandem ? What games has been watching.
I really fed up with this - take my picture Hitch, I am not renewing my season tix either
I agree i dont know a soccer player that cant play a 4-4-2
Wow......."socal Avi fan" here! Looks like a serious team implosion going on. I say go back to the line-up that beat LA (my team!!) 4-0 and Toronto 2-0. You all and the team were riding high back then. What's that saying.....oh yeah "if it ain't broke...."
pretty soon SH will bring his whole smu team
was wondering...you fans that are lucky (well used to be) enough to get to the park to see FCD play....how does the pitch look with it's new grass?
really dry and not that great
A little dry and sandy, but very smooth and not worn through anywhere
So-Cal, doesn't sound like an implosion to me. Just sounds like a typical FCD blog. Relatives and friends of an unhappy player post the same things over and over again until a few uneducated knee-jerk fans latch on. (We hate Davino! No, today we hate Saragosa! OK, now burn Guarda at the stake!) These fans aren't secure enough in their own opinion, so they latch on to the garbage printed by biased families/friends. Not surprisingly, we have seen it happen with many young American players since the blog began. It will end (thankfully) when their families/firends realize pro sports is not u13 soccer and it's unbecoming to print negative things about teammates, the coach, etc. on the blog. If Avi, Oduro, Shea, etc. want to complain about the team on the Internet, I wish they'd take it to Facebook.
Seriously, do you really think you're helping your friend/relative by trashing his teammates? It actually makes me think less of him.
So...bored...you think the only people that complain about certain players are friends/family of other players who aren't getting playing time? That's pretty narrow minded don't you think? I can have a very strong opinion of a player on any team I cheer for and I don't personally know anyone on the team. Do you think Guarda, or Saragosa, or Cunningham is getting the job done? Is the Coach doing a great job in your "unbiased" non U13 opinion? By all means let us have your opinions. And to hold what fans of certain players say on this blog against another player is pretty unbecoming in my opinion. By the way...we do enjoy the freedom of speech don't we??
Hey "bored"......what proof do you have of family/players posting negative stuff (or posting at all)? Most everybody posts under "anonymous"! :-)
yeah i am biased, biased towards fcd and its hard to say they are good when they play like they did on sat, and from what i have seen cunningham and guarda are the main differences. even though cunningham has scored 2 goals it doesnt seem like him and cooper are clicking, kinda of reminds me of ruiz except cunninham doesnt flop as much
I am a season ticket holder, travel 300 miles roundtrip to see each game, and I have no relation to any player. I don't think Avi, Saragosa, or Guarda are very good. I think they need a few years in reserves, only coming out for the occasional sub. They need time and teaching from the older players. I think that SH has done some good things and some stupid things, all a part of being a newbie coach. I have seen the player salary stats just like everyone else, and while not everyone is making 'big bucks' everyone is being paid. These guys, old and new, need to remember why they play football to begin with. FCD always seem to lose steam around this time of year and they need to get their heads in the game. They also need eat, sleep, and breath the tape from last week. SH says in the post-game interview that they should have won it. But I disagree, he had players not focused and not working together. SH needs to take a hard look in the mirror and quit picking players he knows and start playing the group he has. He needs to play to everyone’s strengths and weaknesses.
Bored,
I think you live in a bubble, you have no clue any where outside that bubble.
Hey Tia....how can I get a look at the salary stats?
I kind agree with bored, some are friends and others just go with the flow and then there are just few that really express their ideias...
What I think its funny is that yal always look for someone to blame. A player to pick, the coach(no matter who it is, SH,clark, morrow) and hitch. It is never enough for you but do you do your part?
Ok, ok you are a season ticket holder, so what? I never been to a soccer place where the atmosphere is so bad where the fans dont interact with the game.. Its either because you dont know how to cheer or you dont know nothing about soccer and just go there to pass your time and then come here and make stupid comments...
Y no one blamed richeti for that Red card that costed us a game? or you blame Jeff for Cooper not playing good(but maybe Coop is not happy anymore here because they didnt let him go) or blame SH because he trusts Bruno who has been with the team for a month and its not 100% fit and still manages to play = to avi or even Dax....
I just dont understand any of you guys.... My only concern is with the D and especially with Wagner who really sucks
then why is he playing if he's not 100% fit? These other kids who have been busting their butts from day one of the season seem to be pretty fit. Coach's decision? Duh
I agree theres players on the team whos who been there longer under stand the shap and that are fit or a player who you think is fit and just because thay have played with you. You think!! thay can play that roll just one thing left so say we win 2 games then change the line up and then losse 3 games dont understand
No, I definitely don't blame Ricchetti for that red card. I blame the ref... it was two very weak yellow cards.
Navarro did it again the other night.. Gave nothing to Tauro's keeper for intentionally preventing a goal, and then gave two soft yellows to Bornstein. I actually felt somewhat sorry for Chivas (although they should have put away the PK).
Navarro is an idiot. I hope I never see him ref an FCD game again.
the reason why everybody seems to be confused with this team is we do not know what the hell is going on . SH plays players that he has history with, friends i hope you realize how wrong this coach can be.he changed the entire philosophy that fans had. if you guys have a chance to look into NTPSA teams they have very good players that can make a diference in MLS but this business of getting on board your own students because the understand (your)the coach's system? guys we are here having a bad driver riding us on a dusty road with no headlights on!!!
Being someone who knows Cooper, he has no problem playing with Jeff. They are working hard in practice and will play well tonight. In regard to Cooper not being happy at not being sold to Europe( wrong again ) Cooper has loved every minute of his time here and still does.
Wow....thanks Steve. It's really good to hear actual facts for a change. Hope Cooper gets back in it tonight and lights the Rapids on fire!
