Labor Day

We hope everyone is enjoying the holiday weekend. Although the front office is closed for Labor Day, the team was in this morning for practice. We’ll get to practice below, but we wanted to start things off by reminding everyone that there is lots of action here at PHP later on this week:
  • Thursday - FCD takes on the Colorado Rapids at 7:30 p.m. (live on ESPN2)
  • Friday - Reserve Game: FCD vs. Colorado at 10 a.m. on the adidas Field.
  • Sunday - FCD will face Mexico’s Club America on Sunday in a friendly at 4 p.m.

This morning, assistant coach Marco Ferruzzi led the starting field players from Saturday night’s game (minus Adrian Serioux) in a recovery session while Schellas and John Ellinger ran the remaining field players through a regular practice. The keepers spent the first part of training together with coach Drew Keeshan as usual, before working in with the team later on.

Adrian was not in training, as he left yesterday to join the Canadian National Team for upcoming World Cup Qualifiers against Honduras (Sept. 6) and Mexico (Sept. 10). He is expected to return to Dallas on the 11th.

One piece of news from today -- the team has brought forward Jeff Rowland (right) in on trial for the next 10 days. The 23-year-old was drafted by Real Salt Lake in 2006, and just wrapped up his first season with the Wilmington Hammerheads (USL-2). FCD currently has one roster spot available, which opened up when Ricardinho returned to CAP.

Wow. I guess this new forward will be the 2nd starting forward with Cunnigham if Cooper leaves. That's a shame why can't SH work with the forwards he has? They are very talented.
This is so depressing.

Are you crazy? How in the world can you take away that this guy will be the 2nd STARTING forward over guys who have played significant minutes this year when he's in for a week long trial?

He's from RSL, he's Ellinger's boy, he'll start

This coach is sick in the head.
He has good strikers who are not having good playing time for better assessment he is now going to bring in some PDL forwards as starters.
What he need is defenders. He just saw two quick goals scored on us and he is talking about recruting more strikers?
HE IS A JOKE

i just have no words for this move. we got Jeff in, we have Cooper,Oduro and many other strikers on this team all we need is consitancy we need to get them understand each other with alot of practices who in this world will hire a pdl striker to come in major league and be the savior? SH don't be desperate just keep the focus learn from Yallop he lost many games earlier on he only made 2 or 3 changes and now he is the happiest coach in this league. we need some defenssive midfielders not strikers at this time of the season,if you do not know how to protect a lead make sure you get more defenders instead of strikers.
Dam!!!!

For heaven's sake! I guess all it takes is for a player's resume to include the letters SMU or RSL in order to be the next new player on this team.

Anyone want the rest of my season tickets? I can't stand to watch SH destroy this team anymore. I don't blame the players if they all hate him.

I believe in these FCD players,
they have not just been given the chance for them to closely bond.
Last year was the same. The administration brougt in past time players in the middle of the season
and nothing worked.
We have the strikers why can't these players be allowed to consistantly play together for a year or two and see.We have already wasted last year and this year.We lost Eddie Johnson because we wanted a quick fix and now look where he is now(EPL).
trade Abe and Dom and see, it will come back to HUNT you
Teams are just waiting for your stupid move that is to release them. When that happens they will better utilize their skills against FCD

What is going on here? Players are on trial all the time...why do you people assume he will be starting, let alone ever make the team???

What's the harm in taking a look at players?

"What's the harm in taking a look at players?"

The harm is that they are looking at the wrong players. We have ZERO left sided midfielders on this team. We are paper thin on the back-line, why the heck are we auditioning a 6th choice striker?

"why do you people assume he will be starting, let alone ever make the team???"

Chili Guarda, that's why.

Why is AS being released to play for his country when he's injured??? Who's in charge, oh yeah the college coach. Did he even notice AS was hurt or was it past his bed time.

is it true Schellas recruited this guy when he coached at SMU ? Heard that today from a former SMU player.
If you are Abe or Dom - how badly do you want to be traded.
this is a complete disaster

trade abe all you want. It would be a shame to let dom go. I don't mind getting a look at other players but yeah, we really don't need a new striker.
This team might fall apart but i hope that SH will put it together in a way that works. Ill keep my fingers crossed but im not giving up on my hoops.
Dallas till i die
