Game notes:
• FC Dallas improves to 3-7-4 (13 pts.) with a come-from-behind win over the visiting Columbus Crew (4-3-7, 19 pts.). Dallas is now 2-3-3 at Pizza Hut Park this season.
• The win snaps a two-game losing streak against Columbus. The team now has an 11-5-1 all-time record against the Crew at home, and a 15-14-6 record overall.

• In defeating Columbus, FC Dallas puts an end to the Crew’s nine-game unbeaten streak.
• Eric Avila, who entered the game in the 76th minute, notched the game-tying goal four minutes later with a bending right-footed shot from 25 yards. It was his first career MLS goal.

Great Saragosa starting again. How predictable.. Place your bets now for how long he lasts until he gets a yellow card. No bets taken on his first turnover as we all know that will occur when the first two mins.
I missed the main part of the Brian McClair interview. Was something announced or is he just in town to check on the progress of young Kenny?
Saragosa is starting. Loss.
Saragosa at right mid. Huge loss coming your way.
15th minute Saragosa needlessly gives ball away in dangerous position, then stands there like a statue while Columbus runs at goal.
Will document this ****!

AVILA!!!! AWESOME!!
AVI DOES IT AGAIN WITH THE PASS TO FERRIERA THAT DRAWS THE PK. GO AVI!

OK - GREAT Second half performance.
Dax, Eric and Shea made the difference in this game. Why 2 of them are not starters is evidence of SH's inability to coach at this level. That aside. This was a good win for the team. I am SO impressed with the play of those 3 guys. SH needs to figure out a starting line up that includes those 3 !!!!!!!
okay...here I am to brag on Avi!! I'm not surprised though. I've seen him work like this many times and in what, 15 minutes? Imagine if he played the whole game. Way to go Avi! And I agree the team is great with Avi, Brek and Dax playing together which some time ago was a dream of mine for this team. Keep it going FCD!!
I have an idea to increase viewership of the 18-34 demographic; more specifically college aged males.
Every time a player is interviewed on TV, listen for them to say "you know" and then take a drink. Did you hear Kenny Cooper's interview? I lost track of how many times he said "you know" in one sentence let alone the entire interview. I'm telling ya, it will be the most popular college drinking game since "hi Bob"!
do you suppose SH notice how the game changed as soon as Saragosa was taken out??
No SH did not notice. He would have to admit he was wrong about something and he never does that.
How was the meeting he had before the game with STH's ?
I am not a Saragosa fan but at least he defended tonight and he doesnt hurt us at Right mid. I'd rather see Avila start in his spot but dont blame Saragosa for being down 1-0 at the half. Blame Richetti for giving up a corner so easily. We actually played well the 1st half minus the passing of Wallace & Mcarty. To many giveaways. We created and did not give up many chances.
We needed a goal the 2nd half & put in Brek Cunningham & Avila. It paid off tonight. We were very fortunate not to give up a goal the 2nd half considering we were defending with just 5 players.
I knew they wouldn't lose. The guys just played too well tonight to not get at least a draw. A really nice win for everyone - you could really tell the difference in atmosphere in the stadium (really seemed like more than 8k in there). The passing was off badly in the first half, but they looked much better in the second and ended up getting the win because of it. I like Cunningham and Shea as second half subs right now. Rumor has it that a big trade is in the works that will go down this week or next, moving one of our veterans out to clear up cap space.
Socal Avi fan, I got Avi's autograph tonight on my wife's FCD hat.
Kudo to Schellas for a job well done. There are a lot of us out there who like what you're doing, and once all of the injured get healthy this could be a pretty decent team. And leave Saragosa alone. Own goal-Richetti has scored more goals against Ray Burse than anyone in the league (which is saying alot.)

You have got to be kidding me!!! SH's record speaks for itself and I am not making this up. His record, according to a Dallas Morning News article (http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/spt/soccer/stories/062109dnspofcdbriefs.3e59b7c.html), as head coach is 7-12-12.
This means that out of a possible 93 points, he has 33 points and has left 60 points on the board. What is even more disturbing is the fact that the same Dallas Morning News article has Michael Hitchcock giving SH a vote of confidence. From that article... "I think he has done a really good job," Hitchcock said before Saturday's game against Columbus.
HUH? I'd hate to know what Hitchcock thinks is a "really bad" job. If a "really good job" means leading the team to a losing record, which has led to plummeting attendance, then I say, as well as the thousands who no longer attend say, JOB WELL DONE!
Let me simplify for you what a coach's job is. His job is to field the players that he believes gives the team the best chance to win. He does that by preparing the team mentally and physically during the week. SH has not done that consistently. Yes, there have been key injuries. However, it is his responsibility to prepare the players at his disposal to step-up for the task at hand. Also, regarding the proper fielding of players, I will use the Chicago win as an example of ineptitude. FCD had not been winning consistently going into that game. FCD goes to Chicago, plays a different lineup and not only wins 3-0, but dominates. I would have hoped this would be a huge clue as to what works for this team. What does SH do the next week? Instead of using the same lineup, he reverts back to the lineup that used the same players that were contributing to losing.
Now don't get me wrong as I am glad FCD won. But, quite frankly, I don't think FCD wins because of SH, I think they win in spite of him. I want them to win as much as anyone else. But my opinion remains that as long as upper management accepts mediocrity and/or less, they will alienate present and future fans and become a role model of how not to succeed.
By the way, I hope you stay a fan and supporter and, believe it or not, I am also a supporter that cares. If I didn't care, I wouldn't take the time to write this diatribe.
Today everything works for FCD. Interesting job of Wallace, Dax, Van Den Berg, Cunningham, and Avila but i guess Avila should got the field early. For i while i noticed Ferreira missing at the game with Cooper but soccer are like that foult over ferreira & Cooper scored the penalty kick. We expected more that those players, they been payed as MLS super stars & they should be respond with plays. I hope to be wrong but some times they should get substite by other playes that can improve their talent. On the other hand, Coach is still learning what kind of player he has as these games would preseason.
Good stuff from Eric. Way to go kid!
I love me some AVI!!!! I hope he will continue to grow and get more playing time. He is such a good kid!
619 represent!
anyway you put it... the young guys came in and brought a ton of energy. It was a good win, especially being down to start the second half. Let's hope it continues. I'm loving Wallace and Davies by the way.
Avi's autograph....very nice! We've got one from his UCSB days. Could be worth something some day! Go FCD!!!
Sorry Bob 1007, but the only reason FCD beat Chicago 3-0 was because Chicago was missing Blanco and its 2 best defenders - Conde and Segares. I would compare their defense that day to FCD before SH moved Pablo to the back. It had nothing to do with what worked for the team it had to do with Chicago fielding their C team because they had little to no respect for us.
I actually like Avi as a sub, the crew were tired and Avi's pace was a definite weapon at that stage in the game. His goal was quality. It was nice to see the boys start to slip the ball in on the ground, after Avi subbed in, rather than the endless crosses in to the box which were amounting to nothing. I feel for DVB sometimes because he puts the ball on the money so often yet nonone capitalizes. I though Saragosa was pretty good last night, all the other fan faves turned the ball over quite a few times also. At least Saragosa plays hard all the time(if not smart) and seesm to give a s**t. I don't know if Pablo is cut out for CB or if he is just unlucky. Great effort last night overall.
"Sorry Bob 1007, but the only reason FCD beat Chicago 3-0 was because Chicago was missing Blanco and its 2 best defenders - Conde and Segares."
It doesn't matter. What matters is that Hamlett did not have his team ready to play against a last place team nor did he have his bench players step-up and show they belonged on the field. Those are a few duties of a coach. FCD was prepared, outplayed Chicago, and in my opinion it was the best team effort to date. But that is personal opinion on both our parts. What is a fact rather than personal opinion is SH reverted back to a losing lineup the next week.
U-S-A!!!! U-S-A!!!
Egyptian people have been trash talking on the blogs for months, so...
IN YOUR FACE EGYPT!!!!!
OK... to lighten the mood a bit here are my suggestions for the following uniform color combinations:
1. The blue uniforms should be the blue/white striped jersey, blue shorts with white stripe, and white socks; blue socks if necessary.
2. The red uniforms should be the red/white striped jersey, white shorts, red socks OR the red/white striped jersey, red shorts, white socks.
suggestion time: to lighten the mood how about we enjoy the victory? you know the team you follow, comment on, and support(?) just beat the top team in mls. enjoy it people
Will SH be smart enough to keep the same lineup for next week?

Seriously, is there any need for me? I posted three stupid reasons as to why I am not enthralled by the current state of affairs with FCD, all of them ridculous reasons. I post here because I clueless, but mom's supervision is severely lacking. So seriously, get me some help.

Good news - Avila is up for GOTW. Bad news - the only way the competition could be tougher is if Blanco was in there. We'll all need to vote 15 times a day to have him finish third.
Dax McCarty
I WISH I had a chance to vote for HIM for FCD Man of the Match against the Crew!
I wonder why FCD hasn't formally announced the friendly they scheduled against Comunicaciones of Guatemala on 7/15...
Dax had too many giveaways to be MOTM. I like Dax and he does a great job defending and makes some great passes and links well, BUT he needs to stop giving the ball away so much.
~The real ZRS
Dax has played lights out 4 games in a row. Those of you who keeps saying he gives the ball away too much must be watching a different game.
